Lt. Gen. George I. Forsythe who was Special Assistant for the Modern Volunteer Army - www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/DAHSUM/1972/appC.htm .
The "Father of the All Volunteer Force."
None of these "challenges" facing today's Army leadership are new. Everything is in the history books for anyone to read. Depends on how intellectually lazy they are.
Again, the ultimate outcome, win or loose, will result from several factors:
1) How smart are our Generals?
2) How well read are they - do they know human nature?
3) What "bottom-line" trade offs do the Army generals make?
4) Will these generals put the good of the future service a head of their careers?
