The timing of these comments could not be more idiotic.

“We’ve invested $80 billion into subsidizing this activity,” Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., said, referring to tax breaks allowed for 401(k) contributions and savings.  “We have to start to think about in Congress of whether or not we want to continue and invest that $80 billion…?”

Observer Translation from Liberal into English: "Eventually, our goal is to eliminate all private 401(k) pension plans and force every American into a state run pension system like the current social security system.  We intend to make everyone in retirement totally dependent on the government, specifically a government run by democrats."
