According to progressive Jonathan Capehart, all Republicans at the national level are either "know-it-alls" or "know nothings" and therefore not "suitable" for national office. Under one party rule, only progressives should be allowed in the White House.

---

Years ago progressives made the decision to rely on the media's personal attacks to disqualify conservative candidates at the national level and progressives have not engaged in deep or thoughtful debate since.  Progressives accept the lack of civility, claiming conservatives are much worse.  The argument is designed to confuse moderate voters.  Here is the core distillation of Leftism's appeal to moderate voters: democrats are bad but republicans are worse; therefore, you don't want to but you are forced to vote democrat.  For example, here is Jonathan Capehart's latest weekly distillation: "Newt Gingrich, the know-it-all former Speaker of the House who now rides atop the polls for the Republican nomination for president, has been shooting his mouth off lately."  When dealing with sneaky Leftists, always ask why? For example, the Chicago Tribune offers a glimpse into progressive strategy to fool moderate voters. Look for Leftists to begin a drumbeat of toxic conservative political rhetoric and right-wing obsessions. Specific elected Republican freshmen in Congress will be baited and portrayed as obsessed with birtherism. The objective is to fool moderate voters that lazy, elected Republicans are largely responsible for America's toxic politics and caustic tone. What normal moderate voter would want to associate with these far-right crazies? If you are loony, vote Republican. If you are a smart and moderate, vote Democrat. Leftism is that simple.  Keep it very simple and think like a Leftist, using political jujitsu to flip the narrative on it's head.  "Newt is flawed but Barack is far worse."  Obama broke every 2008 campaign promise he made.  Obama lies.  Obama is far, far worse than Gingrich.
